Foam dog ramps / dog stairs are too light to be stable, especially with larger dogs. They can be tipped, bumped and slid easily. Overly easy to move around is not always a good thing. ( <--confirmed by customers who did away with theirs) A ramp or set of stairs that tips or slides could lead to injury which defeats the whole purpose of the product.

Fact    Our pet stairs and pet ramps (all models) are designed rigid and heavy enough not to slide out from under or tip while your pet is using them and are specifically designed for the safety of your dog or cat. They provide a rock solid foundation for your pet while getting on your bed or couch.

Foam dog ramps / dog stairs and the "fancy" material that covers them retains smell and may eventually have to be tossed.

Fact    If the carpet ever starts to stink on one of our products it is not a big deal, take the carpet of and trash it. You can get a new strip of carpet from us or get a remnant from a carpet dealer cheap.

Foam pet ramps / dog stairs if chewed up by your pet, can lead to choking on foam chunks from the torn up stairs or ramp.

Fact    As long as you do not have a puppy in the "chewing phase" you probably do not have to worry about this but it is a very important point to consider.

Fully carpeted dog ramps / dog stairs - retains doggy and kitty stink and is nearly impossible to get rid of smell without ruining the ramp or set of stairs

Fact    Again, with our products you can remove and throw away stinky or soiled carpet and not have to dish out $$$ for another pet ramp or set of pet stairs.

Fully carpeted / dog ramp / dog stairs - you cannot change the carpet so the first time your pet makes and unexpected run through the house with dirty feet could be the last time that the fully carpeted stairs look nice

Fully carpeted dog ramp / dog stairs - you have to be careful that you know what is under the carpet (no foam!) and make sure it is going to be a stable, sturdy product that won't tip.

Fact    Fully carpeted pet stairs or pet ramps may be a good temporary choice for puppies that are in the chewing phase (providing they are sturdy and safe) or younger cats who are clawing at wood. If your cat is not scratching your furniture around the house I would not worry about it. If you have a puppy though keep in mind that they love to chew.

Other similar dog ramps / dog stairs - have screw heads sticking out all around on the sides.

Fact    Except for on our railed ramps (screws that hold on the rails) there are no screws (none) showing on our products and it is nothing but a pretty finish that is visible.

Other similar dog ramps / dog stairs - many of the other ramps similar to our don't even have solid floors and are just carpet strung over wood planks with gaps in between that sink while you pet is on them

Fact    Our ramps have rock solid floors and have been tested at over 450lbs.
